IMPACT

Year
2025
My role
Conceptual lead of the app, character design and animation, calendar sketches and colour selection. Collaborative teamwork.
Type
Collaborative academic project · Mobile app and interface design
Tools
Figma, After Effects, hand sketches and Google Forms for testing

A mobile app that brings the 2030 Agenda closer to young people through challenges, a calendar and a community. I designed it as a team, starting from hand sketches and ending in an interactive prototype in Figma.

Context

IMPACT started as a group project for a course: an app for the 2030 Agenda that aims to bring the Sustainable Development Goals closer to young people. We worked as a team, and the challenge was to make the app appealing without becoming childish.

02

Challenge

Turn information about the SDGs into a close and participatory experience: challenges, activity calendar, profile and community, with a visual language that invites interaction.

03

Process

Research and concepts. We studied the SDGs, references and design trends for young audiences. The moodboard gathered colour, typography and illustration.

Sketches and navigation. We started with hand sketches of the sign-up, registration and profile flow, and then defined the app’s navigation diagram. We decided that the calendar would be divided into days rather than months, with each day marked by its goal.

Characters. I designed and animated the three main characters in After Effects, making sure they were unique and had character.

Colour and accessibility. I carefully chose the app’s colour range, thinking about people with colour blindness.

Prototype. The team built the interactive prototype in Figma and tested it with real users.

Animated characters

My most notable contribution was designing and animating the characters in After Effects. The three main characters had to be unique and convey the app’s energy, so I worked on every gesture, blink and movement so that they felt close without becoming childish.

Testing

We ran guerrilla tests with people of different ages and an online survey with Google Forms. The results helped us adjust the navigation and the clarity of the information.

06

Reflection

Taking part in this project was my first design experience with a real team. I learned to design interactivity in Figma, to combine it with animation in After Effects, and to apply criteria such as accessibility and heuristics. And I learned that a good result depends on the rapport between the people who make it.
